During a trip to Charlotte, we stopped by Streetside Classic Cars to see the dealership and review their inventory.
We learned about this dealership years ago in the New Arrivals email notification that is sent by Gateway Classic Cars out of St. Louis. Streetside began as a southern spin-off of the original Gateway dealership and became an independent entity. Click HERE to read more about our visit to Gateway Classic Cars.
In addition to the original Charlotte location, there are now Streetside Classics in Atlanta and Dallas-Fort Worth, with future locations coming to Nashville and Tampa.
On to our field report!
The large warehouse site was clean and open. Though there are signs asking visitors not to touch or get in the cars unattended, they will happily let you do a thorough inspection if you have an employee with you. One potential buyer was test driving a convertible Camaro as we arrived. Another customer was on site picking up the Corvette they had recently purchased. All of the staff we spoke with were friendly and laid back, no intense sales pressure going on here.
As you can see from the photos above, muscle cars are definitely a part of the offering at Streetside. On the day we visited there were enough Ford and GM muscle cars to keep any muscle car enthusiast busy for quite some time. We liked the display of classic Mustangs with their modern muscle car counterparts. And the beautiful Hugger Orange Camaro Z28 was a great restoration, with the price to match.
Speaking of price, some of the prices were a little on the high side
based on our recent experiences at the Mecum Auction at Kissimmee and
the Spring Charlotte Auto Fair. However, it is a car dealership
and some negotiating would probably put the price right where you want
it to be. Yes, even a classic car dealer will negotiate.
Be sure to visit the website to check out their great inventory. While on the site, you can sign up for their newsletter to be notified of new arrivals. As always, we recommend seeing any muscle car in person before making a purchase!
